Do not infer 5G eligibility from a different city’s offer

The Vi ₹299 plan appears in the official recharge information with 28 days and 1 GB per day, alongside unlimited calling. It sits between a small total-data pack and higher daily-data tiers. That position can be useful for a regular but modest mobile-internet routine.
The same amount can also appear in city-specific 5G launch material. Do not use a city announcement as a guarantee for every number in India. Check your selected plan, device, circle and local coverage before treating a 5G benefit as part of your purchase.
A daily allowance changes how you plan
A daily pack can suit someone whose usage is consistent: a commute, messages, routine browsing and occasional documents each day. It can be easier to manage than one small bucket that must last the entire period. However, consistency in the allowance does not guarantee that it is enough for every user.
At the listed quota, the nominal scheduled total is 28 GB across 28 days. That multiplication is useful for a rough comparison but does not mean you can use all 28 GB in a single week. Your busiest day is often more informative than your average day.
Consider a hypothetical pattern of 0.4 GB on weekdays and 2 GB on a weekend day. The average might look manageable, yet the heavy day exceeds a 1 GB quota. Look at whether the operator provides a relevant benefit or whether you would need an add-on; do not assume unused weekday data automatically solves the problem.
Compare with Vi's smaller total-data listing
The Vi ₹199 plan has a small total allowance in the listing used on this site. The ₹100 difference in upfront amount is easy to see, but the allocation method is the more important difference. A bulk bucket and a daily quota behave differently when use is uneven.
If you spend most of the time on Wi-Fi, the smaller pack may deserve consideration. If mobile data is part of your everyday routine, review whether a small total bucket would cause repeated top-ups. Count those top-ups as part of the cost rather than treating them as unrelated purchases.
You can also review the Vi ₹349 guide if 1 GB is frequently insufficient. Moving up should solve a demonstrated need. It should not be based solely on the idea that a bigger number always represents better value.
Regional 5G information needs careful reading
An operator may publish launch pages for different cities at different times. Those pages are useful evidence of a local offer, but they can include introductory conditions and geographic limits. A plan comparison should preserve those boundaries instead of silently turning a regional promotion into a national entitlement.
Before paying, open the current benefits for your actual connection. Confirm whether 5G access is included, whether any activation step is necessary and whether a fair-use condition applies. A compatible handset alone does not settle all three questions.
Keep expectations grounded in the connectivity you have observed. Indoor reception, busy periods and travel routes can differ. We have not tested Vi's network performance in your area and do not rate this plan on invented speed measurements.
SMS, calling and content extras
Read the final pack's SMS and calling conditions, particularly if you need special-number calls or app verification. A general “unlimited” label usually describes a specific service under terms; it does not make every possible use free.
If a content service is shown, check whether it is merely access to an app or a paid subscription tier with a defined duration. The distinction matters when comparing with a service you already buy. Do not assign a retail price to an extra until you know what it actually replaces.
A practical decision rule
Choose this tier for further consideration if your measured daily demand usually fits within its ordinary allowance, your local Vi service is useful and the upfront amount fits your budget. Consider another structure when you need large occasional bursts, much higher daily use or a longer period between recharges.
Our how-to-choose guide offers a worksheet for this decision. It starts with your usage and coverage instead of declaring one national winner for users with different needs.
Common questions
Is 1 GB per day the same as 28 GB total? They produce the same arithmetic total over 28 days, but the rules for when you can use the data differ.
Does a 5G offer in another city apply to me? Verify it for your number and location. Do not assume that a regional article is a universal promise.
Is a 28-day recharge a monthly bill? It is a fixed-day validity. Read our validity explainer for the annual budgeting implications.
Cost calculation at a glance
| Measure | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Daily equivalent | ₹299 ÷ 28 days | ₹10.68/day |
| 30-day comparison figure | ₹299 ÷ 28 × 30 | ₹320.36 |
| Upfront payment | One recharge | ₹299 |
These are our calculations from the listed price and validity. The 30-day equivalent is not a separate pack or a promise of monthly billing. It excludes optional add-ons and payment-platform charges. Compare usable coverage and benefits as well as cost.
